FAQs

What’s the weight capacity of a floating industrial dock?

Our FWM Aluminum Docks can support 1,515–2,364 lbs., while the plastic EZ Docks can support 1,000–4,000 lbs.

Are floating docks safe for commercial use?

Floating docks are safe for use in relatively calm bodies of water, i.e., those with waves no higher than 3 feet. With a 13’ freeboard and commercial-grade flotation drums, both FWM Aluminum Floating Docks and plastic EZ Docks provide safe, stable platforms for docking, swimming, relaxing, and more. Both materials are suited for saltwater, but be aware that aluminum will oxidize over time and may require buffing with a Scotch Brite pad.

Can I leave a floating dock in the water year-round?

If your region experiences freezing temperatures in the winter, you may need to make a plan to remove your floating dock seasonally. Aluminum floating docks should not be left in the water during the winter, as ice can damage their infrastructure. EZ Docks, however, can be left in the water year-round. Though the polyethylene product itself is safe in the ice, it’s best to consult a dock specialist to discuss any site-specific variables that could increase the risk of damage.
